When Founder and CEO of Orchard Development, Earl Armiger, visited Tilghman Island over thirty years ago, he saw more than an island--he saw incredible possibility. With his vision, determination, and partnership with Lovell America, the Tilghman-on-Chesapeake housing development became one of the most beautiful locations to live in the Chesapeake area. Today, these early achievements in Tilghman continue to be as significant as they were back then. Now, Armiger's vision-turned-reality is being featured in Gary D. Crawford's book, Avalon Island.

The book details how Tilghman grew to become all that it is and highlights how Armiger's direction was a significant part of that process. Tilghman now connects to Avalon Island, a small islet on its eastern side, so residents can enjoy a Yacht Club and swimming pool. Without Earl's faith in the island, keen eye for excellent real estate, and extensive knowledge building superior developments, Tilghman would not have become, and continue to be, the well-developed location that it is today. Lovell America invested and carried out Armiger's dream with fantastic quality, and now the area flourishes as a happy community on the water.

Anyone can appreciate a location for its beauty, but it takes a person with extraordinary vision to see the beautiful location an area could be. With Armiger's eye and Lovell America's shovel, Tilghman Island became a location worthy of writing about, and it is wonderful that his accomplishments are now recognized in a printed book.
